Becky is a Quarter Horse mare, and she stands at 15.1HH. Becky was born in 1999 and has been at PARDS since June 2015. Her purchase was made possible thanks to John Perkins and family. As part of the horse sponsorship package, John and his family were given the opportunity to name their horse. After much consideration, they decided on the name Becky, after their wonderful granddaughter Rebecca who is a long time rider at PARDS. Before starting life as a therapeutic equine partner, Becky competed in the discipline of Western Pleasure and also took part in numerous parades.
Becky’s background in Western Pleasure means that she has a wonderful slow and steady gait. Her rolling walk and sturdy build is great for any riders feeling a little nervous about riding a horse. She has a soft and quiet nature, and this helps her build relationships with her riders based on trust. Her riders trust her and she trusts them. For riders whose goal is to improve confidence, or learn to canter, Becky is the perfect partner!
