Stacey grew up in the Peace Area. She lived on a cattle ranch that she now helps her parents manage and was an active member of the 4H program. Stacey brings a wealth of knowledge to the Board from first hand experience in fundraising and project accounting. She has been involved with the Leukemia Lymphoma Society of Canada for the past 9 years.
Stacey began her journey with PARDS as a therapeutic rider in September of 2018 on the recommendations of a family friend, her doctors and physical therapist because of a diagnosis of Graph vs Host disease, caused by Cancer treatments. The disease causes mobility and muscle strength issues. Through riding and volunteering in lessons at PARDS she has experienced personally and seen in others the personal, emotional and physical benefits to participants in the programs available at PARDS. “The benefits don’t just occur with interacting with the horses, but with the staff and volunteers as well; they create a sense of community within the organization”.
“Being a therapeutic rider, a boarder and a member of the Board has brought a sense of peace and purpose back to me. I believe in this organization, its people and what they stand for.”
