~ PARDS Group Summer Programs ~
PARDS Summer Camps provide an inclusive environment where children and youth of all abilities are encouraged and supported to identify and build on their own strengths as well as recognize and appreciate the strengths of others.

Inclusive Youth Day Camp

Campers spend each day practicing and learning the basics of horse care and horsemanship through activities, lessons and hands-on learning. Independent Inclusive Mounted Riding
Independent Inclusive Mounted Riding Lessons are for anyone aged 7 and older. The lessons are geared toward many skill levels, from therapeutic riders to riders with basic formal lessons to more advanced novice riders. Lessons are facilitated by qualified instructors and are designed to help riders become comfortable with riding basics enabling progress. Throughout your session our goal is to help you progress, perfect your techniques and, most importantly, have fun!
Please note: Riders must be able to ride independently for summer programs.

Independent Inclusive Cart Driving
Cart driving is an excellent way to access the benefits of equine therapy. Learning to work with and control a horse as the driver of a cart. (vehicle) Cart driving is where a horse or pony is hitched to a wheeled cart and is driven around an arena, an obstacle course, or out on a trail.

Para Sport
Who can participate?
ParaSport is open to anyone that qualifies for PARDS therapeutic riding program and would like to experience competition in the ParaEquestrian Video Competition Series or learn the dressage style of riding
Please note: Riders must be able to ride independently for summer programs.

The Video Competition program is offered to para equestrian riders as an introduction to the experience of competition in the comfort of your home stable while competing with riders across Canada.
Riders ride a dressage test which is recorded by one of our volunteers or staff.
PARDS then uploads the video to a private YouTube account and submits the video to Equine Canada through the online Para-Dressage Video competition Portal. Each submitted video is then judged and scored by certified Equine Canada judges.
Test scores with feedback are returned to the rider. Ribbons and prizes are awarded for the top 3 scores in each riding category.

For all Individual Summer Programs:
Please register and you will be contacted to book your time slot, spaces for all programs are limited.
~ A Fabulous Year ~

PARDS 2020/2021 sessions saw many changes given the many challenges Covid -19 presented on a day to day basis to many programs in the community. PARDS maintained that our riders come first in all aspects of their safety, health and welbeing and for some, continuing in the only extracurricualr activity they were able to participate in. We worked closely with many government agencies and with modification to adhere to restriction guildlines, our therapeutic programs continued and our riders thrived!
Many riders and families shared their comments about the year in our lesson evaluation.
We look forward to seeing new and returning riders in both our summer and fall programs.
All programs are open to registration on our website.
Please visit PARDS website for information and registration.
