Lesson & Barn Volunteer Orientation - January 4, 6:00

We are inviting you, our supporters, to play Santa to our very special herd. By providing the resources and supports to help us care for our equines, you are impacting not only these strong and majestic animals but also over 350 therapeutic riders that rely on their horse partners for their mental, physical and developmental health goals.

Every gift matters and helps our horse partners to thrive.

You will be recognized in our January digital newsletter as a campaign supporter and receive a personalized letter of thanks along with a photo of one of our amazing horses. Gifts of $250+ will be given the opportunity to have their photo taken with a horse at PARDS.

Please share the spirit of giving this holiday season by contributing whatever you are able. If you are not in a position to contribute financially, please share our story to help others learn how they can support the health and wellness of our equine partners and the over 350 riders they support.

As a result of the extreme generosity and creativity of John Cossens of Wood If I Could, PARDS has received a selection of wooden tree ornaments and keychains to sell as a fundraiser to support the programs that help our riders thrive. These items are hand cut requiring detail and precision and we truly appreciate John sharing his talents with us in support of our riders.

Thank you to our Dine & Dance Sponsors

A fabulous night was had by all. Event attendees enjoyed a Champagne welcome followed by a delicious dinner. Throughout the evening there were raffles, silent and live auctions and dancing. We would like to thank our sponsors and those who attended for making the evening an event of fun and success.

Thank you to Reeghan Funk

PARDS would like to thank Reeghan Funk, and her parents for coming to the PARDS Dine & Dance. Reeghan shared her story of her riding journey with PARDS giving attendees an insight of what PARDS means to Reeghan as well as the benefits of therapeutic riding to her.

Volunteer of the Year

Wade Mayer

Our well-deserving Volunteer of the Year Award recipient is Wade Mayer. Wade received his award at our annual Dine & Dance event in recognition of his many years giving of his time and his skills. Wade has worn many volunteer hats in his time with PARDS; currently he collects bottles from supporting businesses for our Dime-at-a-Time campaign, refills our water bottles and does an excellent job of helping us maintain our riding trails so our riders can enjoy a safe trail riding experience as part of their riding lessons. Wade embodies a giving and generous spirit and we are so appreciative that he has chosen to support our riders through his efforts.

Community Rider Support

We are so appreciative of all the support our PARDS Riders receive from our community.

Especially love when people like Lloyd Daniels with RB Oilfield Hauling Inc. donate hockey tickets to a very deserving rider family. Andrew Bienert is the lucky winner of a contest held here at PARDS and won 4 tickets to see the Oil King vs Broncs game in a suite at Rogers Place.

Riders were asked to to write about their experiences at PARDS and what their horse means to them. Please read what Andrew shared about PARDS and his horse Valla.

Lloyd you truly make a difference in our world! Enjoy your adventure Andrew!

Community Spotlight

It's happening!!!

Thanks to donations from the Rotary Club of Grande Prairie, the County of Grande Prairie No. 1 and Canadian Natural Resources Limited, PARDS has begun construction of a hay storage shed and an equipment storage garage. Both these projects have been in the works for some time and are much needed additions to the facility. Much progress has been made since September and we are looking forward to keeping our bus warm and equipment protected as well as our hay dry and easily accessible during the winter months.

Everyone at PARDS is incredibly thankful to be part of such a generous and supportive community.
