Fletcher Bootle
Board Governance Advisor
After a distinguished 41-year career with ATCO Electric, Fletcher Bootle retired with a wealth of leadership, governance, and management experience. Today, he enjoys spending time woodworking, but he also continues to give back to the community by sharing his expertise with organizations like PARDS.
Fletcher serves as an independent Board Governance Advisor, providing guidance and support to the Board of Directors on governance and management practices. While he is not a voting member of the Board, his experience and insight help strengthen the organization’s leadership and long-term success.
Throughout his career and retirement, Fletcher has been deeply involved in community leadership. He has served as Chair of the Grande Prairie Airport Commission for nine years, Chair of Grande Prairie Regional College for six years, a Board Member with Careers: The Next Generation for six years, a Director with the Chamber of Commerce, and has held numerous leadership roles with Rotary over the past 41 years.
Fletcher became involved with PARDS after being approached by Bob Wallace and later Tyla Savard to assist with Board governance. He saw it as an opportunity to share the knowledge and experience he had gained throughout his career while supporting an organization making a meaningful difference in the lives of others.
For Fletcher, the most rewarding part of PARDS is seeing the joy and confidence that horses bring to participants. He has also enjoyed watching the Board continue to grow and develop, and has a deep appreciation for the volunteers whose dedication makes the organization possible. Along the way, he has even gained a new appreciation for horses and the care they require.
Fletcher’s thoughtful leadership, commitment to good governance, and passion for community service continue to be invaluable assets to PARDS.
