Northstar

Born in 2007, Northstar is a Welsh pony standing a mighty 11 hands high. Small in stature but big in personality, Northstar is a much-loved member of the PARDS herd. She is generously sponsored by Northstar Hydrovac Inc.. whose support helps provide her care.

Her energetic personality makes her a wonderful teacher. From the ground, riders learn how to communicate with Northstar, practice leading and develop an understanding of how their cues influence her. In the saddle, she helps riders work on balance, body position and learning to hold and use the reins as they prepare for the exciting goal of riding more independently.

Northstar’s characteristic choppy pony walk provides valuable movement and stimulation for riders who benefit from increased sensory input. Her lively way of going can also help riders stay engaged, focused and connected to the activity.

While she may be small, Northstar has a big job—and she takes it on with plenty of personality! Her combination of energy, movement and willingness to teach makes her a special part of the PARDS herd and a wonderful partner for our youngest riders.
